99 Ways to Beat Trump (and Trumpism)

1. Vote.  You're registered to vote, right? Make sure. 
2. Vote early.  Most states allow this.
3. Volunteer to protect the vote by being a poll observer. 
4. Forward this page to friends (good news is meant to be shared)
5. Follow the "Trump Sucks" FB page for new actions and things to spread.
6. Follow the LeftAction FB page too
7. Follow the Lincoln Project, a group of prominent Republicans working to defeat Trump.  And share their ads and videos, which are amazing, and piss Trump off in a major way.
8. Thank the Pence Fly
9. Let him talk.  Seriously, the guy is his own worst enemy.
10. Help Trump leave the country once he loses
11. (But don't get too cocky, he still could win this)
12. Donate to House candidates who could tip state delegations, in case the election goes to the House
13. Have a "sober October" where you give up alcohol and donate the money you save to Biden or Democratic candidates (but don't give up caffeine, you're gonna need that)
14. Support this "Democracy Agenda" if the Democrats take back power, to restore our democracy
15. Urge the debate moderators to turn off Trump's mic if he keeps interrupting
16. Support Chefs for the Polls, a new effort from José Andrés that will be feeding people stuck in long lines at the polls.
17. Thank Patagonia for these wonderful labels, and encourage more companies to take a stand.
18. Vote Democratic down the line. We can't just defeat Trump, we need to crush the Republican party that enabled him.
19. Maintain a "rational optimistic" attitude -- confident in the likelihood of victory, but knowing full well there's a lot of work needed to get there.
20. Tell the Debate Commission to make debates virtual to keep Trump from infecting more people.
21. Don't go around whining about how "we're doomed" or that "there's nothing we can do!"  It's a pain in the ass for everyone around you, it's dispiriting, and it's also bullshit.

32. Get a Biden sign for your yard or window. Either from the campaign or from the many choices (including some really fun ones) on Amazon.

45. Keep a sense of humor.  It will keep you sane.  And it can be a very powerful way to communicate a message.
46. Create your own fake Trump tweets. Use his favorite medium to mock him.

49. Remind people who say what a great businessman Trump is that he went bankrupt in the casino business.  CASINOS -- where people literally line up to give you their money for nothing.

57. Don't be a free press freeloader, part 1. GIVE your $$$ to the NY Times and the Washington Post. Pay for the premium subscriptions.

59. Feeling rage?  Then "rage donate" to your favorite Trump-fighting organizations.
60. Join your local Democratic organization. If there isn’t one, start one!

70. Try a different kind of GOTV -- "Get Off The Vote".  Pledge not to have sex with your partner if they're a Democrat and don't vote.  AND to give them an extra special libidinal treat if they do!
71. Bake a cake for a Trump supporter, if they agree to stay home on election day.
72. See a Trump enabler enjoying a night out at a restaurant? They're ruining our country, so why not ruin their dinner?
73. Don't waste time arguing online with knee-jerk right-wing trolls/Trumpets.  If you're never going to convince them to change their minds, spend the time instead working to reach out to those persuadables in the middle, or helping to mobilize those already on our side.
74. If you're stuck in an elevator alone with a Trump supporter, fart.  It won't help win the election, but they deserve to have their day ruined anyway.

If  you find yourself trapped (say, at a family holiday dinner) by "fact deniers" who spew nonsense, don't get mad, just make sure to "out-jackass" them.  When they say "President Obama was born in Kenya", respond with, "oh yeah, well Trump is a lizard wearing a human skin suit! His birth certificate is forged!"  When they say (without any evidence) "Trump actually won the popular vote if you exclude the 3 million illegals who voted for him!" You respond, "No, Trump lost even bigger when you exclude the 7 million unicorns who voted for him!"  You're never going to convince the fact-deniers anyway, so you might as well have some fun making them try to argue with absurdity for a change.

When you get one of those group emails spouting some wildly nonsensical right-wing lie, check out Snopes, find the evidence to refute it, and politely "reply all" with it.  Odds are the knucklehead who sent it won't care about actual facts, but even if you convince a few others on the thread that the message was BS, that's worth it.

Follow the Onion, and keep an eye out for its satirical takes on Trump's nuttery.  And then share the heck out of them.  Humor can be a powerful way to pierce the veneer of cynicism people have when it comes to politics, and to get your message through.  And many people who might not respond to a straightforward argument might "get" this approach better.
79. "Trump" in British slang means "fart."  Use this information as needed. 
80. Join a union.  Or a church.  Or both. Help to build networks that can foster progressive change, and enable you to make connections with those who may not agree with us now, but who are potentially persuadable.

91. Don't just preach to the choir -- get to know people who voted for Trump, and try to (politely) convince them to do otherwise on election day.  We're not going to win them all over, but if we swing even 1%, that could make the difference.

95. Speaking of Twitter, tell them to cancel Trump's account.  He's broken their rules over and over, and others have had theirs cancelled for the same, so... why is he getting special treatment?
96. If you're going to vote by mail, consider dropping your ballot off at a drop-off location (if your state has them) rather than sending it via mail.  Just one less thing for the USPS to deal with, and a way to ensure that your ballot gets there on time.
